George, a Nashville native and Stratford High School graduate, earned his Bachelor's from MTSU. As an AmeriCorps member in West Palm Beach, he helped over 100 high school students access college.
 
Returning to Nashville, George began as a first-grade teacher at East End Prep before becoming the Lead Post-Secondary Coach at the Martha O’Bryan Center. There, he boosted student engagement to over 85%, doubled the program's size, and secured multiple grants. Now with Persist, he addresses college persistence citywide by collaborating with all local high schools.
 
A former wellness coach certified in weightlifting, George enjoys photography, sneaker restorations, and connecting with students through their passions.
