Hunter’s Reflections on His College Journey

What are you most proud of as a college alumnus?
The commitment to lifelong learning that was instilled in me at Davidson College.

Who or what helped you persist through college?
The Dean of Students Emeritus at Davidson College, William Holt Terry, mentored me for my four years at Davidson and was one of the most important formative relationships in my life.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-generation college student?
Explore, explore, explore. Use college as a time to explore every area of interest that you can think of. After college, life naturally narrows. Take advantage of the opportunity in college to explore areas of interest (or potential interest) that are outside of your comfort zone.

Hunter’s journey and success story are truly inspiring. His commitment to lifelong learning and the influence of his mentor highlight the importance of support and exploration during college.

By contributing to our Year End Giving campaign, you can help more students create success stories like Hunter’s. Your support makes a difference in the lives of first-generation college students, providing them with the resources and guidance they need to thrive.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for supporting Persist Nashville. Together, we can empower more students to achieve their dreams.
